Grandparents House A Home Away From Home As I approach the cristal to my Grandparents post, my stomach turns inanticipation of the sweet sugar cookie intent that a cargo holds. I turn up the longnarrow gravel passage and park my simple machine in front of their house. I step international anda chilly little breeze bites at my cheeks. I comeback a deep breath and the sweetsmell of burning cedarwood enters my nose. I look up to the chimney and see thegray puffs of stack scatter as it hits the still winter air. I shut the car gateway and follow the sidewalk to the back door. I open the door and a child-likesmile immediately spreads across my face.Before I screwing even get my shoes off, my grandma greets me with her usual warmhello. I smile back at her and ask what shes been up to. But I dont evenneed to ask, I can already smell the blank bread thats been baking in theoven. I get up to go to the kitchen, and her pug, Mack, jumps up and tries tolick my hand. My grandma follows me into the kitchen to make some hot tea. I position on the counter as my grandma makes the tea. Some of my outgo Christmasmemories are of making cookies with my grandma in that very kitchen. We get ourtea and go back to the dining elbow room. I sit at the flurry and listen to mygrandmas day. She tells me that her and grandpa fin tout ensembley got the Christmas treeup, and all of the decorations put on it, and that after lunch, grandpa is goingoutside to hang up all of the icicle lights. I set my tea down and go into theliving room to check out the tree.She turns on the lights, and the tree lights up like the sensation in the RockefellerCenter. I take a closer look and am still able to pick out some ornaments Igave her when I was a little girl. My grandma co... ...ed right on over and latched onto the fence, altogether this time,it was operating in full force. Try as I might, I just couldnt let go.Finally, I was able to pull back my nippy black palm. Although my cousin neverbelieved this ever happened, he figured if it did, if was bewitching good paybackfor taking him to play with the horses. We go back indoors and grandma already has some hot tea waiting for us. We sitin the living room and catch the end of the Bronco game. later on its over, Ifigure I better head foot. I watch at the Christmas tree as I walk back through and throughthe living room. Its just the beginning of December, and already I cant waitfor Christmas to get here. I hug my grandparents and head out the door. As Islowly drive away, I continue to look at their house in my rearview mirror. Icant wait to come back tomorrow, to my home away from home.
